This computer is perfectly capable of supporting Windows Small Business Server.  At this time a test system is running SBS as a domain master controller, web server, file and print server, fax server and a Windows Software Update Server (WSUS).  Server installation and setup is a complex process so the labor exceeds the hardware price several times.  Server orders start with an evaluation of the small business and completion of a survey.  Several prerequisites are required including the registration of a network DNS domain name and acquisition of internet protocol (IP) addresses.

  • Single Processor Intel Server
    • Intel SE7210TP1-E motherboard
      • 3 - PCI-X 64 bit x 66 MHz expansion slots
      • 1 - Gigabit network adapter
      • 1 - 10/100 network adapter
      • Intel extreme graphics
    • Intel P4 478 3.0 GHz HT processor

    • 2 Seagate SATA hard disks
    • NEC DVD-RW

Wired Network

Wireless Networks

  • The standard Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP) security is no longer adequate to protect your wireless communications.  Anyone with a notebook computer can download software from the internet that has the ability to crack your WEP code in less than 10 minutes.  An individual may be cruising your neighborhood at this moment looking for a wireless WEP network to crack.  If you are using a wireless WEP network it is time to update the encryption protocol and possibly the hardware.
